Recently, we have seen a lot of automakers battling against each other. The most recent has been Jaguar vs Mercedes-Benz.
However, Audi seems to have bigger balls as they set out to trump Lexus, 'Benz and BMW! Hey, maybe they have some sort of nice relationship with Jaguar which is why they weren't included.
It's the latest promo video of the new Audi A3 Saloon which may possibly be Audi’s preview of the Super Bowl commercial.
The video shows what type of people drive Mercedes, Lexus and BMW. Take a look for yourself!

Wow, that's low, even for Audi, especially when we talk about a posh Jetta.

However, Audi seems to have bigger balls...
Perhaps a bit too big. This was just too much, and by the end I ended up almost disliking the A3 because of it. If they want to convince people that they make better cars than BMW or Mercedes, they could try giving us some merits of it. Also, they probably should have used the current 3-series in the ad.

This is a terrible ad. All is says is we're better! While making slut shaming/abstinence jokes and not presenting a single reason to back up it's claims.

Tee-hee.
I once tried to hoon an A3 with the 170 hp Diesel and meant to stay with some bikes on a country road ... that platform felt so old all of a sudden. I'll gladly believe that they made huge progress with the new A3 ... just don't call it luxurious , as it's a normal car with a somewhat attractive interior and lots of gadgets that will cost you dearly. That's not what makes a luxury car, though, and I can't imagine people actually buying the car for such a reason.
Also, seeing that this is a U.S. market spot (at least I assume it is), is the one of the characters saying she'd rather be in the Nissan NY cab than in a 3-Series? If so, top kek.

This reeks of those Mac vs PC ads. Ugh.

Its ridiculous, at least a 3 series and the cla is built on a bespoke platform by their respective manufacturer. I will not pay 30k for a hopped up golf/jetta.

Wow, between this and that "green police" ad from a while, I would say that the marketing department of Audi north america is making some really half-assed ads.

Advertising is polarizing, and this ad in particular isn't supposed to appeal to Mercedes and BMW owners (who will obviously hate it), but to anyone on the fence or already in the Audi camp. Anyone with any vitriol for the ad has some part of their heart in the "other luxury car" camp, and that's great. It obviously touched a nerve with a few commenters.
But it's not accurate to denounce the ad as bush league, low, or terrible when all it's doing is taking this luxury car "rivalry" and parodying it. Maybe if the "dramatized" scenarios depicted were real situations, but they are obviously ridiculous. It isn't trying to be anything else but ridiculous. It's OK - if you drive a BMW or Mercedes, you're not really as contemptible as the mean old ad says you are.
Now it's not the best brand representation of an auto maker on the bottom of the luxury food chain trying to work its way up, but it's certainly targeting a demo the other makers aren't.
